1. General

Personally identifiable data which you provide over the website under the URL http://www.filespots.com and other pages relating to the Filespots services, are collected processed and used by Filespots GmbH & Co. KG, which is the responsible entity within the meaning of the Bundesdatenschutzgesetz (German Data Protection Act, “BDSG”).

2. Registering for our service

For use of our service you first have to register with your email address and a password of your choice for our website. Please keep your password secret to avoid any abuse.

To enable your use of Filespots, the IP address provided by your computer, periods of use as well as information regarding access to and upload of data is recorded. This data is deleted after the purpose of its collection has ended. The IP addresses recorded at registration, termination or booking as well as date and time remain stored for purposes of proof and identification.

Upon request Filespots provides information about the data which is stored under your username. Please simply send an email to support@filespots.com.

3. Scope and purpose of the use of data

The data you provided upon registration is used for the contractually agreed purpose, i.e. to enable use and operation of Filespots services and for contractual communication and in such far as agreed for provision of further services.

Filespots collects usage and traffic data, including for example the user ID and access times to Filespots and data contained therein for the purpose of providing the contractually agreed services and with regards to functionalities offered by Filespots. This includes that third parties, namely operators of the respective Filespots, servers or Filespots receives such data, e.g. as part of usage statistics for further use. You explicitly consent to the collection and use of this data.

Filespots uses pseudonymous data for the purpose of analyzing use and optimization of its offers. You can object to this use, e.g. by email to info@filespots.com.

Further thereto data is only used for information and marketing purposes only if you have given your consent, e.g. if you have ordered our newsletter by signing up on our website.

In such far as you are using paid services on Filespots, payment data, e.g. your creditcard number is collected and used for accounting for the services ordered by you.

All data collected from you on Filespots is stored electronically.

4. Third parties

Third parties is only granted access to your data in such far as Filespots uses these third parties for the operation of the Filespots portals and its services, e.g. a service provider hosting the Filespots portal and data generated in relation thereto.

Further Filespots may be obliged to provide data to third parties, e.g. prosecution services. Other than aforementioned, your personally identifiable data is not without your prior explicit consent provided to any third party.

5. Consent/Revocation

In such far you explicitly consent to a certain use of your data on the Filespots portal, this happens on a strictly voluntary basis. You thus have the right to revoke your consent with affect for the future at any time.

6. Cookies

Cookies are small text files which are stored on the hard drive of visitors of our website. In accordance with the sellings of our websit, a temporary cookie is stored on your hard drive which collects certain information during your stay, e.g. language and duration of your stay on Filespots. Further a permanent cookie is created, which inter alia counts the number of visits without linking your computer automatically to any of your personally identifiable data.

The data stored in cookies eases your navigation and enables the correct function of the functionalities of Filespots. Cookies do themselves not contain any personally identifiable information. Our cookies are further not designed to identify you as a person. We use the information stored by cookies to analyze the use of Filespots and optimization of our offers.

You can prevent storage of cookies by amending your browser settings accordingly. Please refer to the usage manual of your browser provider.

7. Deletion and blocking of data

The data which you have provided upon registration for our website is stored as long as you are registered with us. Thereafter data is deleted unless legal obligations with regards to data retention persist. In this case data is blocked for any further use.

8. Amendments to the Data Protection Notices

Filespots retains the right to update these notices on data protection. In case of changes which are detrimental to you Filespots will inform you with an appropriate notice period.
